Taylor & Michael | A Fall Wedding at Union Barn
Taylor and Michael's wedding on October 25, 2025 was a beautiful fall celebration set against the scenic views of Union Barn in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. With crisp autumn air, outdoor ceremony moments, and a venue surrounded by natural beauty, the day felt relaxed, warm, and full of genuine connection.
Second Shooting with a Collaborative Team
I joined this wedding as a second shooter, working alongside a small creative team. The lead photographer handled both photography and video, while another team member focused on video coverage. I was brought on to capture additional photo coverage throughout the day — including candid moments, alternate angles, and in-between interactions that help round out the full story.
While Taylor and Michael were friends of a friend, I was grateful to be thought of and included as part of their wedding day. Being trusted to contribute in this way is always meaningful, especially in a collaborative setting where everyone is working toward the same goal: documenting the day honestly and thoughtfully.
A Fall Wedding in New Kensington
Union Barn is a stunning venue, especially in the fall. The outdoor setting, rolling views, and warm seasonal tones created an ideal backdrop for Taylor and Michael’s celebration. The venue’s open space allowed for natural light, movement, and unobstructed views — all of which lend themselves beautifully to candid, documentary-style photography.
From quiet moments between the couple to laughter shared with friends and family, the day unfolded in a way that felt natural and unforced.
Capturing the In-Between Moments
As a second shooter, my focus was on observing and documenting the moments happening just outside the spotlight — reactions during the ceremony, guests interacting, and the subtle exchanges that often become favorites after the wedding day is over.
These moments help tell a fuller story and complement the lead coverage, especially when working within a team that values storytelling and flexibility.
Grateful to Be Part of the Day
Every wedding I second shoot adds to my experience and perspective as a photographer. Taylor and Michael’s wedding was no exception — a beautiful fall day, a welcoming team, and a venue that truly showcased the landscape of Western Pennsylvania.
Whether I’m photographing a wedding as a lead or supporting as a second shooter, my approach remains the same: capture real moments, genuine emotion, and the feeling of the day as it naturally unfolds.
